The Indonesian Society for Digestive Endoscopy (ISDE) was established on December 2, 1973, with its main committee located in Jakarta. ISDE is an autonomous council under the auspices of the Indonesian Medical Association (IDI) which has full authority in determining and implementing the organization duties both inward and outward. ISDE consist of Ordinary Members, Extraordinary Members and Honorary Members. ISDE consists of: (1) The Legislative, consisting of the National Congress and the National Work Conference; (2) The Executive Board, consisting of the Commission and Branch Commission; (3) The Joint Commission, is coordination between The Indonesian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG), The Indonesian Society for Digestive Endoscopy (ISDE), and Indonesian Society for the Study of the Liver (Ina-ASL); and (4) Particular Board, which consists of the Expertise Advisory Board, the Gastroenterohepatology Professor Forum and the Competency Assessor Board which aims to assess competence and provide competency certificate recommendations for ISDE members.

As annual events, ISDE organizes Jakarta International GI Endoscopy Symposium (JIGES). Also the joint commission of ISG-InaASL-ISDE organizes the National Congress and National Work Conference every 3 years.

Vision

To be a professional organization of gastrointestinal endoscopy in Indonesia in accordance with the international standards in order to improve health services in Indonesia.

Mission

Maintain and continuously improve the quality of gastrointestinal endoscopy service and professionalism. The “professionalism” in the sentence above encompasses the professionalism of both the organization and its personnel (ISDE members).

Internist Fellow of Management of Gastrointestinal Disease by Endoscopy: Basic Level

In 2020-2021, ISDE held a fellowship examination board for basic gastrointestinal endoscopy competence, which was attended by 256 ISDE members of endoscopic internists who provide gastrointestinal endoscopy services in Indonesia.

Official Journal of The Indonesian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG), The Indonesian Society for Digestive Endoscopy (ISDE), and The Indonesian Association for the Study of The Liver (Ina-ASL) is The Indonesian Journal of Gastroenterology Hepatology and Digestive Endoscopy (pISSN: 1411-4801; eISSN: 2302-8181). This journal is an academic journal which has been published since December 2000.
